COMMENT
An all time RECORD low temperature of minus 9.4 was recorded on the 3rd. The previous
lowest temperature had been a paltry minus 8.9 recorded twice in 1954. The early part of
the month was characterised by an extended period of cold weather, which caused pipes
to freeze for 10 days.
Through the month, the mean wind speed has been well above average (almost verging on
the long term July maximum), which is reflected with the Wind Run also being above
average. Days of Strong Wind and of Gales almost double respective long term means
To summarize, it's been cold and windy.
