Pg3

Getting results - progress. [pg1, pg2, pg3, pg4, pg5]

As mentioned on the previous results page, Liz has been busy with Amber to select some new therapists. It has now been 3 months since the new therapists have started, and the results keep coming in. Isa has also started a new special needs school for one day a week and she is doing very well there. She really enjoys the one on one sessions she has at home in her therapy room with Amber, Sarah, Yarra, Michelle and Liz. Her learning is compounding at a fast rate, she can now write her name, tell what day it is, say the address of where she lives, the name of the school she goes to, she knows her left and right, she can perceive her own and others emotions, she is fully toilet trained, she is learning basic maths and reading - the list goes on. At the school she attends she does activities such as swimming and kinder-gym, they have a professional speech therapist / teacher, she learns songs and puts together short stories which are typed out on the computer and printed out for her to bring home, it's absolutely amazing.
We have also been trialling some educational software by Edbydesign - (Education by Design) - which specialises in software for children and adults with disabilities. The program she has been trialing is called Food for Thought and she is progressing along with it quite well. It basically helps to develop skills in pre-reading, choice making, word / symbol recognition, counting, matching, listening, vocabulary, visual and auditory discrimination and sorting.
